Proposed CREK is designed for easy demonstration and study of the most distinctive features of conical refraction:
- the light ring,
- the Poggendorff dark ring
- the Raman bright spot.
The excellent performances of CREK allow for observation of specific conical refraction details that have not been revealed in historical experiments.
